Allegro's Christmas

My cute kitty is featuring alot in my scrapbook pages at the moment.
This is one of my more elaborate pages as I'm normally more of a simple scrapper.
I had some lovely bits in my stash and some techniques I wanted to try.

I have been playing with my Carousel notes (scallop circles) lately, as when I purchased them, I had scrapbook journalling in mind. I have found you can do alot more with them!

I recently ran a Carousel purse/ album and card class and came up with lots of ideas, some of which are still swimming around in my head. I will share a few more ideas later...so stay tuned!

In this page, I have used a carousel note to feature my heading. I used a mixed collection of On board letters, which I inked, glittered and added crystal effects to get a nice glassy finish.

The little gold embossed bird is from my "Always" stamp set (one of my faves!) and the gold bauble is from Tree trimmings.
I have added gold and red crystal brads fro a bit of sparkle. The papers are from the "I wish" scrapping kit...lots in this one - great value!

I used my flower punches to create the embellishment and finished off with some striped ribbon which I pleated and stitched. Stitching always seems to finish off a page.

Hope you like it!

Special Birthday card

This is a card I made for a friend's 30th birthday.

I have really jazzed this card up to mark a special birthday, using the cake image from the SAB set, Happy Moments.
I created a die cut circle and embossed it with my diecutter and an embossing mat.
I then added the stamped and coloured image which I had punched with my 1 3/4 inch circle punch.
The chipboard numbers were sponged with my white craft ink with sponge daubers and then glittered with dazzling diamonds.

The colours are Tempting turquoise, Pink passion and the DSP is from the Kaleidoscope pack, which I seem to be using alot lately :)

Hope you like it!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! This is a cute scrapbook page I created to show off my new I (Heart)Hearts stamp set (and a photo of a very cute couple!). I loved this stamp set even before it was chosen to aid the Haiti Earthquake victims. ($2 from the sale of this set will be donated to the Red Cross!) I have gone with a classic Red, white and black colour scheme. I created nice fat scallops for the edge of my page with my slit punch. The DSP is from the Riding Hood Red multi pack. If you like this page design, I have created a scrapmap for you! I hope to include more of these on my blog for your inspiration. Enjoy your Valentine's Day!

Another Happy Moment

How cute is this set? Many many cards from one set! This time I have used a Brocade Blue/So Saffron colour combination with a splash of real red. The base card is Brocade Blue and the DSP is again Washington Apple. I have stamped the flower bouquet with black stazon and watercoloured it with my blender pen and ink pads. I then punched the image out with my new 1 3/4 circle punch which is the perfect size for these images. This was then mounted onto a piece of So Saffron which has been corner rounded. I added another strip of Washington Apple dsp across the card and a Brocade Blue scalloped edge. I wrapped some red grosgrain ribbon around this piece before mounting onto my card. I added a little brocade blue flower punched with my 3 flower punch and secured it to my card with a real red brad (Bold Brights brads) Another happy moments card! Looking Out Scrapbook page

This is another cute picture of my cat sitting gazing out the door. A past time that he spends much of his time doing. When I first started out to create this page, I had a very different idea. But looking through my scrap papers, I came across this lovely sheet in the Tall Tales DSP pack and the little birds seemed most appropriate for that is presumably what my cat finds most interesting to look at outside! I cut a circle with my Circle scissors in Old Olive and stamped his name with my Short order Alphabet stamps, pierced some holes around the edge and placed the circle beneath my photo. I created the flowers with stamps from my Enjoy every moment stamp set. I surrounded the journal flower circle with circles cut with my 1 inch circle punch in Rose Red, to create a larger flower. I embellished the flowers with my little 3 flower punch flowers in Apricot Appeal and fixed them to the flowers with Rose Red brads. I then (horror of horrors) cut into a second sheet of the same paper and cut out the little birds and popped then up with dimensionals to add some dimension to the page. But that's ok cos I will make some cards with the scraps :) I created my heading with Chipboard letters sponged with white ink and my tiny alphabet set (Simple Serif) with old Olive ink stamped on a narrow strip of very vanilla card then cut into squares. I finished off the page with a stamped and punched Butterfly (gotta love that punch!) and some more Rose Red brads. I added the date on a Curly label punched tag which I tucked under the picture. I was pretty happy with how this page turned out even though it was nothing like what I had in mind when I started out with my very cute photo!
