Island holiday wishes

Can you tell I was wishing for a holiday when I made this card! I love this Tropical party set from the Summer mini. I also love the bright happy colours in the Island Oasis DSP pack. I had not long returned from a short stay in Rockhampton when I saw this set and I immediately thought of all the scrapbook pages I could make with this set. Sadly, Rockhampton is looking a little different at the moment with all the flooding in QLD. Such a pity...such a lovely city! Some friends and I are getting together at the weekend to make cards to raise money for the relief effort in QLD. Why not get your own little group together and raise some money for a worthy charity. Put all those stamps to good use (and have fun at the same time!) I have used the Petals a plenty embossing folder for the background and the scallop circle die for the stamped image. The greeting is from Word Play. I can wish myself back to a tropical place with this card right now!

A little bit French

This is a card I made a while ago but never posted.
Anyone who knows me well knows I love everything French (including croissants!). The Eiffel tower has a particular appeal as does all those flourishes that come in our French themed sets. Over the years I have built up quite a collection of these type of stamps.
This cards was inspired by a Magnolia card I saw on someones blog and I immediately thought of using my new Artistic Etchings set.The Newsprint DSP also sprang to mind and the card evolved from there!
I gave this card to a friend for her 60th birthday (as I knew she would appreciate it!)
I put a little 60 on the back of the spinning oval. The final card was a little more embellished with black pearls and glimmer mist. The paper flower was made with my scallop circle punch.
I have a few more cards that I have made recently so I will post those soon!

I'm Back!

No, I haven't fallen off the face of blog land!
Things just got crazy before Christmas...you know!!!
I had my cards out nice and early (for once) but didn't have any gifts which meant mad shopping in December with the rest of the mad Christmas shopping crowd. So not doing that next year!
And it's VERY bad for the budget too. Not helped by a broken hot water service and broken car battery as well!
Lucky for me I had some new stamps put aside to play with now!
Here's a couple of baby cards I have now put away in my stash!
I bought this gorgeous Baby Bundle stamp set when it was on sale last month and I love it!
Great for colouring and playing with my stamp positioner (gotta love that tool!)
- though you could get away without it with this set.
Notice the new Square Lattice embossing folder?
Fab addition for some texture - available now in the Summer mini catalogue.
